Property Management
The property that the Foundation owns is managed separately from its publishing activities. The Foundation became the owner of Karlavägen 31 in 1993, and this is where it conducts its publishing business. It also owns premises in Järfälla that are used for distribution purposes.
Financial Management
An investment advisory council is responsible for managing Natur & Kultur’s capital. This advisory council is appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors and meets quarterly to discuss the investment of the Foundation’s financial assets.
Environmental and Ethical Considerations
Direct investments are only made in those companies that the investment advisory council deems suitable: that is, they fulfil the demands of the international conventions that Sweden has signed. In addition, companies that are active in Sweden have to follow the requirements set down by Swedish law.
The major conventions cover the following:
- Human rights
- The rights of the child
- International Labour Organization
- International environmental standards
- Anti-bribery and corruption principles
